Characteristics & Performance of FRP Pultruded Profile
1.Good dimensional stability
Thermosetting resin matrix undergoes heat-induced cross-linking, forming a stable mesh structure with minimal post-shrinkage. This results in excellent dimensional stability and minimal creep under long-term continuous load. The creep performance is influenced by factors such as load size, temperature, and duration. Compared to thermoplastics, thermosetting plastics exhibit significantly lower creep under prolonged loading. FRP Pultruded Profile is a product that exemplifies these characteristics.
2. Excellent heat resistance, high temperature characteristics
Thermosetting resin-based composite materials exhibit exceptional heat resistance characteristics, as they cannot be softened after curing. With a load of 1.86MPa, these materials typically maintain their dimensional stability within a thermal deformation temperature range of 150 ~ 260¡ãC. In particular, fiber-reinforced thermosetting plastics are renowned for their excellent insulation properties, boasting a low thermal conductivity of approximately 0.35 ~ 0.47W / (mK). Compared to metals, this thermal conductivity is only about 1/100 to 1/1000, making them ideal for insulation and high-temperature applications. These materials can withstand temperatures up to 350¡ãC, making them suitable for both room temperature and high-temperature structural purposes. Notably, fiberglass/phenolic composites are highly regarded as effective thermal insulation materials for rockets and missile engines.
3. Excellent electrical performance
Composite materials are highly regarded for their exceptional electrical insulation properties. When mica is used as a filler in these materials, their electrical characteristics become even more superior. This makes them ideal for manufacturing specialized components that require arc resistance, voltage resistance, and excellent electrical induction. The use of composite materials with outstanding electrical properties eliminates the risk of electrochemical corrosion and stray current corrosion, making them widely applicable in the production of instruments, motors, and electrical insulation components. By incorporating these materials, the reliability of electrical equipment can be enhanced, leading to an extended service life. Additionally, these products exhibit excellent dielectric properties and microwave permeability under high-frequency conditions, making them suitable for manufacturing a wide range of high-frequency insulation products, including radar hoods.
4. Excellent corrosion resistance
The resin-based composite material is different from the electrochemical corrosion mechanism of ordinary steel. It is not conductive and does not dissolve out in the dielectric solution. Therefore, it has good chemical stability for the atmosphere, water and general concentration of acid, alkali and salt. Nature, especially in the non-oxidizing strong acid and a wide range of ph value of the medium has a good stability. Therefore, it is widely used in the manufacture of corrosion-resistant products for the stainless steel can not deal with some of the media (such as hydrochloric acid, chlorine, carbon dioxide, dilute sulfuric acid, sodium hypochlorite and sulfur dioxide, etc.) corrosion, played a good role.
5. FRP pultruded profiles with good surface properties
Composite materials and chemical media in contact with the surface of the surface is generally very few corrosive, and rarely fouling, so commonly used in its manufacture of fluid pipelines, the pipeline resistance is very small, low friction coefficient, saving a lot of power. As the composite material is generally not like metal as easy to generate metal ion pollution media, so this is the food and pharmaceutical industry widely used in composite materials, the reason. In addition, the composite material has a high friction (pv) limit, in the water lubrication conditions, the friction coefficient is very small, about 0.01 ~ 0.03 or so, it is also the preferred material for wear-resistant products.
The above properties of the pultruded composite are used for mechanical structural parts, insulators, high frequency force parts and other functional structural parts.
